The Kromer 8228-01 (legacy number 7228-01) is a zero-gravity tool balancer for tools weighing 0.9-2.6 lb - for example miniature drivers, air blow guns or inspection lamps - and works equally with any other tool or fixture in that weight range. Constant retraction force means the tool floats weightless and stays exactly where the operator leaves it across the full 5.2 ft of cable travel, rather than being pulled back to a start position.

The 8228 is Kromer's lightest industrial balancer frame - impact-resistant plastic housing and drum, with simplified load setting. A cable wedge sets working cable length anywhere within the cable's total length, without changing the balancer's cable extension range. A manual lock system is available as an option on this type.
