Two things separate it from the rest of the 8400 range. The whole reel is stainless - drum, frame and bracket - and the pressure rating is 2600 PSI (180 bar), roughly nine times the 300 PSI of the 8406 and 8410, which is what makes it suitable for hydraulic oil and grease-transfer duty rather than shop air. The open frame leaves the drum and the full length of hose visible, so wear can be spotted and the hose replaced without dismantling a casing. That is the usual reason open reels are chosen for hard-service and wash-down areas.
