The TECNA 9405OD is an outdoor zero-gravity tool balancer for loads weighing 110-132 lb, built for equipment that works outside or in unheated areas - EV charging points, fleet and forklift charging, airport ground support, car wash hose management. Rust-free, and rated for indoor and outdoor use from -40 to 140 F (-40 to +60 C).

Zero-gravity means the load stays wherever you leave it instead of returning to a rest position - let go at mid-height and the tool simply hangs there, weightless to the operator. Cable travel is 8.2 ft (2,500 mm) and capacity is adjustable across 110-132 lb (50-60 kg), set with a worm screw.
It has a manual lock to hold the load at any height. Only operate the lock with the load hanging.
A centrifugal safety device locks the drum if it ever turns faster than the danger limit - a load coming unhooked, or a cable breaking. If it trips, discharge the drum spring immediately and completely and have the balancer inspected.
What makes it the outdoor version is rust-free materials inside the housing and out. The ribbed, sealed aluminium alloy housing is powder-coated, so it resists oxidation and chemical corrosion. The exterior and interior parts are rustproof and stainless steel, the wire rope is stainless steel throughout, and so are the screw-lock carabiner and the thimble.

- Stainless steel wire rope
- Stainless steel screw-lock carabiner
- Unit weight: 50.9 lb (23.07 kg)

If the drum spring ever breaks, a safety device blocks the balancer so the load cannot fall. If it trips, do not try to free it - have the balancer serviced.
Options for this model: Option B1, a reinforced lock and unlock control worked from floor level (7190000022), is available for this model - ask us when you order.
The structure you hang it from has to be stronger than five times the balancer weight plus the maximum load - and if several balancers share one structure, five times the total of all of them, each on its own independent connection point. Always connect the safety suspension to a separate support, and set the stroke limiter so the load never comes to rest above the operator.
Other capacities in the 9401OD-9405OD series: 9401OD (33-44 lb), 9402OD (44-66 lb), 9403OD (66-88 lb), 9404OD (88-110 lb).
If you need the tool to return to a rest position when you let go instead of staying put, you want an outdoor retractor rather than a zero-gravity balancer. The outdoor range covers both.
Not working outdoors? The TECNA 9405 is the same balancer in the standard build, at the same capacity and cable travel.
