The Kromer 7222-03 is a tool retractor for tools weighing 15.4-22 lb - for example larger nutrunners or impact wrenches - and works equally with any other tool in that weight range. A retractor is not a zero-gravity balancer: retraction force increases as the cable is pulled out, so the tool comes to hand easily and then returns to its initial position when released - keeping it off the bench and out of the way between operations.

The 7222 adds an automatic ratchet lock: it sets a premature retraction stop so the tool parks at a chosen height - useful for repetitive assembly work.
