The Kromer 8261-02 (legacy number 7261-02) is a zero-gravity tool balancer for tools weighing 386-441 lb - for example press tooling, handling frames or heavy assembly fixtures - and works equally with any other tool or fixture in that weight range. Constant retraction force means the tool floats weightless and stays exactly where the operator leaves it across the full 4.9 ft of cable travel, rather than being pulled back to a start position.

The 8261 is the heaviest balancer Kromer builds, reaching 661 lb. Chill-cast aluminium body, closed ball bearings on both sides, encapsulated suspension spring, patented freewheel against overrotation and a cable extension limit stop against cable overload. Cable travel is achieved with a deflection pulley, which is why reach is 4.9 ft rather than the longer travel of the lighter frames.
