The Kromer 8251-05 (legacy number 7251-05) is a zero-gravity tool balancer for tools weighing 143-176 lb - for example heavy handling fixtures or large welding guns - and works equally with any other tool or fixture in that weight range. Constant retraction force means the tool floats weightless and stays exactly where the operator leaves it across the full 9.8 ft of cable travel, rather than being pulled back to a start position.

The 8251 is the long-reach heavy frame: 9.8 ft of cable travel from a chill-cast aluminium body with closed ball bearings on both sides and an encapsulated suspension spring. A patented freewheel protects against overrotation when the spring is released, and a cable extension limit stop guards against cable overload. Above 220 lb the 8251 uses a double-spring design.
