Kromer Upgrades All Zero Gravity Tool Balancers to the New 82 Series

Kromer, a global leader in ergonomic lifting solutions, has officially upgraded its entire line of Zero Gravity Tool Balancers, introducing the next generation of advanced models designed to improve safety, durability, and operator comfort. The new 82 Series, including the Kromer 8228, 8230, 8231, 8235, 8236, 8241, 8248, 8251, 8261, and related models,  replaces the popular 72 Series, setting a new standard in industrial tool balancing technology.

Why the Upgrade?

Kromer’s decision to upgrade all Zero Gravity Balancers stems from growing customer demand for stronger, safer, and more eco-friendly equipment. The new 82 Series is engineered with advanced features that support modern industrial environments, including assembly lines, automotive manufacturing, aerospace, woodworking, and other high-demand workplaces.

With load capacities ranging from 1 lbs up to 661 lbs (0.4 – 300 kg) and cable travel up to 9.8 ft ( 3000 mm), the updated balancers ensure precise load control while minimizing operator strain.

The Kromer 82 Series builds upon the success of the 72 Series while introducing major performance upgrades:

  • More Impact-Resistant Housing
A new housing design offers improved durability, ensuring reliable performance even under heavy industrial use.
  • Faster Cable Replacement
The EasyCable feature allows for quick and simple cable changes, reducing downtime and improving productivity.
  • Enhanced Corrosion Protection
Rust-free models feature more anti-corrosion materials and integrated drain holes to prevent waterlogging — ideal for humid or outdoor environments.
  • Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing
Produced with reduced environmental impact, aligning with Kromer’s commitment to sustainability.

Benefits of Kromer Spring Balancers

Kromer Spring Balancers provide a wide range of benefits that make them an essential part of modern industrial workplaces. Known for their German-engineered quality, these devices combine ergonomics, safety, and efficiency to support operators in demanding environments such as assembly lines, automotive plants, woodworking facilities, and more.

Improved Ergonomics

One of the most important advantages of Kromer Spring Balancers is their ability to create a “zero gravity” effect, making heavy tools feel weightless. This effortless handling greatly reduces strain on workers’ arms, shoulders, and backs. Over time, improved ergonomics translates into fewer repetitive stress injuries and a healthier, more comfortable workforce.

Enhanced Safety

A tidy, organized workspace is a safer workspace. By keeping tools suspended and within easy reach, spring balancers prevent accidents caused by misplaced or fallen equipment. Integrated safety features—such as fall protection, spring fracture safeguards, and adjustable stroke limiters—further protect operators from sudden tool drops or uncontrolled movements. This level of safety is why Kromer balancers are trusted in industries where precision and reliability are critical.

Increased Productivity

Time spent searching for or repositioning tools adds up quickly in a busy production environment. With Kromer Spring Balancers, tools remain positioned exactly where they are needed, ready for immediate use. The smooth lifting and lowering action allows operators to work more quickly and efficiently, reducing downtime and helping companies meet demanding production targets without compromising quality.

Extended Tool Lifespan

Tools are a major investment in any industrial facility. Kromer balancers help protect that investment by preventing tools from hitting hard surfaces or being left in unsafe positions when not in use. This contactless storage reduces unnecessary wear and tear, meaning tools last longer and require fewer repairs or replacements—delivering real cost savings over time.

Versatile Applications

Thanks to their wide load range and compact design, Kromer Spring Balancers are highly versatile. They are used not only in traditional manufacturing but also in specialized industries. From supporting power tools on an automotive assembly line to holding adhesive dispensers in packaging plants, Kromer balancers adapt to countless applications. They are even integrated into non-traditional systems like X-ray machines, fitness equipment, and sun protection systems—proof of their flexibility and reliability across industries.
