The TECNA 9520OD is an outdoor zero-gravity tool balancer for loads weighing 26.5-44 lb, built for equipment that works outside or in unheated areas - EV charging points, fleet and forklift charging, airport ground support, car wash hose management. Rust-free, and rated for indoor and outdoor use from -40 to 140 F (-40 to +60 C). Zero-gravity means the load stays wherever you leave it instead of returning to a rest position - let go at mid-height and the tool simply hangs there, weightless to the operator. Cable travel is 8.9 ft (2,700 mm) and capacity is adjustable across 26.5-44 lb (12-20 kg), set with a worm screw. It has a manual lock to hold the load at any height. Only operate the lock with the load hanging. What makes it the outdoor version is rust-free materials inside the housing and out. The ribbed, sealed aluminium alloy housing is powder-coated, so it resists oxidation and chemical corrosion. The exterior and interior parts are rustproof and stainless steel, the wire rope is stainless steel throughout, and so are the screw-lock carabiner and the thimble. If it trips, do not try to free it - have the balancer serviced. Options for this model: Option F, the friction brake on the drum, is fitted at the factory when the balancer is built - that is the TECNA 9520.FOD. Option B1, a reinforced lock and unlock control worked from floor level (7190000021), is available for this model - ask us when you order. The structure you hang it from has to be stronger than five times the balancer weight plus the maximum load - and if several balancers share one structure, five times the total of all of them, each on its own independent connection point. Always connect the safety suspension to a separate support, and set the stroke limiter so the load never comes to rest above the operator.
